- Yongle is also named Zhu Di and is the fourth son of Hong Wu Emperor. Before Hong Wu Emperor died, he appointed his eldest son, Zhu Bao to be ruler, and his nephew, Zhu Yunwen as crown prince.
- However, when Zhu Yunwen became emperor, he starts to "Executing and demoting his powerful uncles." Yongle find this reason for his cause of rebellion, and led citizens with eunuchs in support, start rebelling against Zhu Yunwen.
- Yongle survived the initial attacks on him and launch the Nanjing Campaign against the current emperor. After he succeed in overthrowing the emperor, he claim himself as ruler of China.
- Yongle means "Perpetual happiness".
